Island Life
Ko Samui is a popular year‐around destination for visitors from Europe, North America, Australia. The island has its own airport, privately owned by Bangkok Airways, with direct flights to Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, Pattaya, Phuket, Krabi and Chiang Mai. Ko Samui is about half the size of Phuket, but sees only about 10% of Phuket’s annual number of visitors. Only A319 and ATR aircraft as well as private jets are allowed to land at Ko Samui airport. Most points of the island are within 45 mins from the airport. The island is home to more than 200 five-star hotels and six private hospitals with 195 beds.
